SELFIES ARE A SYMPTOM OF A SICK SOCIETY – ST. ÄMA – 2016
In today’s self-obsessed society, narcissism and shallowness are rewarded with empty accolades on Social Media. These toxic behaviors are also encouraged by others participating in the same ego-masturbatory activities. One giant uniform circle-jerk of likes and selfies and empty comments. All of it completely devoid of meaning
What won’t you degrade by plastering it on your fucking Facebook, or Instagram?
Selfie Sticks, and duck lips, oh isn’t this just the perfect time to take a selfie ladies? We’re so fucking adorable!
It’s like seeing a group of apes fascinated by their own reflection. Except much, much sadder.
Does your face change so often that a daily photograph becomes necessary for your friends and family to recognize you? Don’t believe you have anything to worry about because you seem to have the same three expressions in every image.
Native Americans believed that a photograph steal a person’s soul. Until the internet and Social Media I chalked all that up to superstition.
But maybe there’s something to it… I find myself far less skeptical now, because I can see the soul drain out f every person’s face with each proceeding selfie.
Each one, their eyes are deader, and deader, until you’re looking at nothing but a vacant doll who fills their hollowed out souls with trivial likes and barely coherent comments from strangers online.
Cheap likes and the illusion of internet likes inflate your ego, remember, people CARE and obviously want to see MORE.
